HOTELS/RESORTS
Whitney Hotel
“The location in Beacon Hill is perfect! From quaint shops, eateries, bookstores (Beacon Hill Bookstore & Cafe~ a must see), and cobblestone streets cannot be beat! It’s a true gem! We took advantage of their complimentary bikes and took a ride along the Charles River. Their restaurant & courtyard are outstanding. No better place in all of Boston!”
Other tips about Boston: “Buy a membership to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. It is outstanding – they offer free guided one-hour tours. Book a tea-lunch at the Boston Public Library. The Fenway Park tour is AWESOME!”
The Langham
“The Langham is my favorite hotel in Boston! It’s in a prime location within walking distance of many bars and restaurants and has easy access to the T (subway) which connects you to the entire city. The hotel used to be a Federal Reserve Bank and the on-site restaurant maintains much of the historical charm. When visiting around the holidays, the decor is beautiful and photo worthy. The staff is so kind and accommodating and the gym is spacious.”
Favorite thing about the hotel: “Kind staff, beautiful holiday décor.”

The Fairmont Copley Plaza
“When I visit Boston to see family, I splurge and stay at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. When you enter the hotel, you're immediately greeted by a friendly labrador named Cori who is a permanent hotel guest! The hotel itself is pet friendly, and I love knowing I can bring my pups along for the trip. The rooms at the Fairmont are elegant and the service is top-notch. The hotel bar, the OAK Long Bar, makes to die for cocktails and it’s open late. This is one of my favorite hotels and one not to miss.”
Favorite thing about the hotel: “There is a pet dog that lives in the hotel!”

The Midtown Hotel
“The Midtown Hotel was a great hotel for a family. They have parking in a garage and offered free breakfast at a local diner. The location was awesome since it was not far from Fenway and the subway. The Prudential Center was right down the street. The prices were great given the awesome location. We did the Freedom Trail package and my kids loved the book they received in the room. Nothing special about the rooms but the price and location made this a perfect family getaway.”
Favorite thing about the hotel: The location.

Trident Bookstore & Café
“Trident is a unique stop, combining cafe with bookstore. There is a food seating area when you first walk in, but there is another upstairs; so be sure to check both for a table. The potato chuckwagon (shredded potatoes, cheese, veggies, and meat) was delicious, as was the hot chocolate. Plus, once you finish eating, you can browse the bookstore.”

The Boston Sail Loft
“I’ve always heard Boston has the best clam chowder in the nation. I was in New Hampshire for my graduation ceremony and decided to drive down to Boston to find some great “chowdah”. I went to Boston Sail Loft and I can definitely say that I have tasted the “best clam chowder” in my life! I am from the South but I give Boston this 5-star rating for this dish. I ordered a quart to take some to New Hampshire that day. I highly recommend Boston Sail Loft for its exceptional, delicious clam chowder!”

Drink
“Drink is more than a bar - it’s an experience. It’s a little hidden, a little surprising, and a lot delicious. With no set cocktail menu, you tell the esteemed bartenders what kind of drink you want, and what spirit, and they create something that will knock your socks off!”
Other tips about Boston: “Visit the Seaport district - so many great restaurants in an area that was wasteland 20 years ago.”

EXPERIENCES
Samuel Adams Boston Brewery
“The tour was so informative and taught me so much about hops and malts. The beer tastes better from tap there than anything bottled! I’m making this recommendation because it was truly a community and cultural experience. You really get a feel for Boston, the people and what they take pride in. Best part of my visit!”
Other tips about Boston: “The trains are easy to navigate, especially if you’re used to NYC subway.”

Mike’s Pastry
“My father's familia is Italian and we are very choosy when it comes to Italian desserts. My dad grew up in NJ with access to excellent bakeries but when my parents moved to PA there was absolutely none around. When I visited Boston with my husband we heard positive reviews about Mike's so we had to try it. The line was very long but definitely worth the wait. The cannoli and pastries were so heavenly I almost cried. We still talk about going back to Boston just to visit Mike's pastry shop.”
Favorite thing about Mike’s Pastry: Cannoli

Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum
“My husband and I were visiting Boston together for a wedding and had one day to sightsee. I was born in Boston but moved away when I was young. I visit frequently so I’ve visited most of the major sights, but I’ve never done this museum. I’ve walked past it many times so this time we decided what the heck. We went in the middle of the week when it was cold and dreary. There were only about 6 of us total on the tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting. I definitely learned things.”
Other tips about Boston: “Use the subway and walk when possible. Best way to experience this city.”
